Baseball Recap: Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Takes a Loss

St. Croix Falls hit Chetek-Weyerhaeuser with a six-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs lost 9-1 to the Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 10-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for St. Croix Falls, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chetek-Weyerhaeuser is set to take on their familiar foe Ladysmith at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Croix Falls will square off against rival Spooner at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Saints 3.9, the Rails 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
