Softball Recap: Shelton Highclimbers vs. Aberdeen Bobcats

Shelton had lost 19 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-16 to make it 20. They lost 6-0 to the Aberdeen Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-3 loss two weeks ago.

As for Aberdeen, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-2. Considering they have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Aberdeen's part, not much got past Lilly Camp, who gave up just two hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep Shelton off the board. Camp has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zoe Vessey was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Shelton will be playing in front of their home fans against Tumwater at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Highclimbers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunderbirds have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Aberdeen, they will head out on the road to square off against WF West at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
