Eastern waltzed into their contest on Saturday with seven straight wins...and they left with eight. Everything went their way against the Caldwell Redskins as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

While Eastern won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final set scores came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-23.

Braelyn Simpson paced Eastern's offense, picking up 11 kills. Simpson got some help from Kinslie Well and her 18 assists. Makenzie Robertson and Emeri Lloyd kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

The loss wasn't for lack of effort from Aubrey Kress, who prevented things from getting worse by getting 26 assists and three digs. The team also got some help from Jocee Archer, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Eastern has now won eight of their last nine games at home. That gives them a 10-1 record this season. As for Caldwell, they are now 5-6, having gone 2-4 since their three-game winning streak ended.

Coincidentally, Eastern and Caldwell will both be playing Belpre the next time they take the court. The Redskins will head out to face the Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
