Basketball Recap: Gulf Find Success

Gulf won the last time they faced Fivay and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gulf Buccaneers snuck past the Fivay Falcons with a 42-37 win.

Despite the loss, Fivay still got an impressive performance from Kaziah Merritt, who posted 11 points along with six boards and six steals. That's the most steals Merritt has posted since back in December of 2023. Jaslene Medina was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight steals.

Gulf's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Fivay, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-3.

Gulf will take on Wiregrass Ranch in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fivay and Wesley Chapel will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
