Capital entered their tilt with South Charleston on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 35-24 victory over the Black Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why South Charleston lost, don't look at Malcolm Brown. Despite the final result, he rushed for 244 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Capital's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for South Charleston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Capital and South Charleston could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings. The Cougars will square off against Huntington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (32 vs. 1).
