Baseball Recap: Darlington Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lower Richland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Darlington). They blew past the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets 15-4 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Shane Oliver was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Paschal, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Darlington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .773. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Darlington's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Lower Richland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6-1.

Coincidentally, Darlington and Lower Richland will both be playing Wilson the next time they take the field. The Diamond Hornets will head out to face the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Falcons will host them at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
