Volleyball Recap: Clovis East Timberwolves vs. Pitman Pride
Clovis East lost against Pitman back in August of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Timberwolves fell just short of the Pride by a score of 2-1.
Clovis East actually scored more points across those three sets (62-57), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 29-27, 13-25, 15-10.
Jimena Alvarado paced Clovis East's offense, picking up seven kills. Alvarado were helped by Jayda Phasakda and Keniah Verduzco, who contributed ten assists each. Verduzco was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Pitman found their leader in sophomore Jahnvi Dhillon, who had 18 digs and two assists.
Clovis East's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Pitman, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-4.
Clovis East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Arroyo Grande on the 12th. As for Pitman, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Sanger on the 12th.
