Recap: Boerne Greyhounds vs. John F. Kennedy Rockets
The Boerne Greyhounds had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They breezed by John F. Kennedy at home to the tune of 63-0. The result was nothing new for Boerne, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Boerne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooks Perez led the charge by picking up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Ivan Perez, who rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns.
Boerne's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44 points. As for John F. Kennedy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Boerne has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Somerset will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while Boerne is ranked 221st). John F. Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
