Softball Game Preview: Granger Lions vs. Anderson Trojans

The Granger Lions will be taking part in a tournament against the Anderson Trojans at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It was a proper cat-fight when Granger faced off against Rockdale on Tuesday. Granger fell just short of Rockdale by a score of 4-3.

Skyla Thorsen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Tavernier, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Anderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-4 to Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin.

Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Granger, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Granger came up short against Anderson in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 6-2. Can Granger avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
