Recap: Basic Wolves vs. Galena Grizzlies
On Friday, things could have been worse for Basic, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-50 loss to Galena. That's two games in a row now that Basic has lost by exactly 14 points.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Baltierrez, who scored ten points. The contest was Baltierrez's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Mari Cottingham, who scored seven points.
Basic has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Galena, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Basic will take on Green Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Valley is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Galena and Douglas will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
