Baseball Recap: Hart Has No Trouble Against Golden Valley

Hart got themselves on the board against Golden Valley on Wednesday, but Golden Valley never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Grizzlies. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Mason Cummings's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Lincoln Daly was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Hart: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Werther, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Daly wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Hart now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Golden Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Hart will have a chance to go back-to-back against Golden Valley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
