Football Game Preview: Sandhills Classical Christian Lions vs. Father Capodanno Grunts

The Sandhills Classical Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Father Capodanno Grunts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sandhills Classical Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Berean Baptist Academy, who was ranked 15th at the time (Sandhills Classical Christian was ranked seventh). The Lions blew past the Bulldogs 32-8 last Friday. Considering the Lions have won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Father Capodanno didn't have too much trouble with Berean Baptist Academy on Friday as they won 34-20.

Sandhills Classical Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.4 points on average over those games. As for Father Capodanno, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Sandhills Classical Christian took their victory against Father Capodanno when the teams last played back in August by a conclusive 38-12 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
