Recap: Stephens County Indians vs. Wesleyan Wolves
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Stephens County Indians can now relate to. They fell 33-26 to the Wolves on Friday. It was the first time this season that Stephens County let down their fans at home.
Tripp Underwood threw for 103 yards and a touchdown. Davon Swinton was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Javin Gordon rushed for 132 yards.
Leading Wesleyan to victory were Jamie Tremble and Ben Brown. Tremble picked up 217 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Brown threw for 356 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt. Tremble's longest reception was for an incredible 79 yards.
Stephens County's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Wesleyan, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Stephens County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wesleyan will face off against Calvary Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Day is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
