Volleyball Recap: Clinton Cougars vs. Edgerton Crimson Tide

Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Edgerton Crimson Tide. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crimson Tide this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-19.

Macy Hinz paced Clinton's offense, picking up nine kills. Hinz got some help from Maryn Waite and her six assists. Hinz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Edgerton found their leader in sophomore Piper Precourt, who had 12 digs and three aces. Precourt has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played. Sydney Watson also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Edgerton, they pushed their record up to 29-8 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Clinton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Racine Lutheran on the 11th. As for Edgerton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Turner on the 14th.
