5A Conference 12 recap October 8, 2013

Manchester's Lakee Simon rumbled for the longest rushing play in 5A Conference 12 this season in his game against Midlothian last week. Simon ran for 67 yards on the play and finished with 123 on the day as his team bested the Trojans.

Bird extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lake Taylor, 21-14. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

Manchester's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Daniel Rose threw for 230 and 2 touchdowns and Jonathan Duhart had 169 yards receiving. On the ground Simon chipped in 123 yards. Dazjjon Igner helped Manchester's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.

He went 9-13 with 0 interceptions.

Duhart was the best receiver in the league this week as Thomas Hall's team beat Midlothian. Duhart tallied 5 receptions for 169 yards. Igner helped Manchester's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.

Manchester's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rose has thrown for 877 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Duhart has 23 catches for 417 yards. Rose also leads the league in rushing with 447 yards.

The Lancers took down Kevin Thomas' team 45-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Rose ran for 32 yards during the win.
