Baseball Recap: South Hills' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After flying high against San Dimas last Friday, South Hills came back down to earth. South Hills fell 5-2 to the Siegel Stars on Monday. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

South Hills got a good showing from Marc Morales, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Morales has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, South Hills saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Guerrero, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Diego Villarreal also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

South Hills' loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Siegel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

South Hills didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-2 defeat against Thompson on the 25th. As for Siegel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against Lakeside School on the 25th.
