Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. Evergreen Plainsmen

The Mountain View Thunder will head out on the road to take on the Evergreen Plainsmen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Mountain View was able to grind out a solid win over Kelso, taking the game 55-42. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Hilanders are ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Evergreen came into Tuesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged Heritage out 64-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Plainsmen have posted since December 27, 2024.

Evergreen's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-12. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Mountain View didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Evergreen when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 52-47 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain View since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
