Volleyball Recap: Faulkton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of three wins, Faulkton's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warbirds from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-13.

Faulkton's offense was headlined by Claire Cotton and Presleigh Martinmaas, who picked up three kills apiece. Cotton really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. Martinmaas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Faulkton's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Wolsey-Wessington, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Looking ahead, Faulkton will head out on the road to square off against Langford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wolsey-Wessington, they will welcome Warner at 7:00 p.m. on October 6.
