Basketball Recap: Sterling Jets vs. Parkview Christian Patriots
Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parkview Christian Patriots. The Jets lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in February of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 63-31 score last time.
Colin Wambold and Brody Horstman certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Wambold posted 16 points, while Horstman had 15 points. That's the most points Horstman has posted since back in January of 2024. Owen Uher was another key player, putting up eight points.
Parkview Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harlem Mcginnis, who went 5 of 11 en route to 17 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Mcginnis also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tairren Scott, who put up 17 points along with seven assists and four steals.
Sterling's record now sits at 2-10. As for Parkview Christian, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Sterling has already played their next matchup, a 70-30 defeat against Southern on the 24th. As for Parkview Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-44 loss against Brownell Talbot on the 21st.
