Basketball Game Preview: Harvey Red Raiders vs. Crestwood Red Devils

The Harvey Red Raiders will take on the Crestwood Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Harvey is coming into the contest on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They came out on top against Conneaut by a score of 39-28 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Crestwood hadn't done well against Berkshire recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Everything went Crestwood's way against Berkshire as Crestwood made off with a 56-33 victory. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Harvey better keep an eye on Hannah Ward. She was instrumental in Crestwood's win, going 5 of 11 en route to 10 points along with six rebounds and five assists. What's more, Ward also racked up four blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Lincoln, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Crestwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Harvey's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Crestwood, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Harvey didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Crestwood in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 36-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harvey since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
