Basketball Recap: Carlisle Thundering Herd vs. Central Dauphin Rams

The Carlisle Thundering Herd came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 73-67 W over Central Dauphin. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Central Dauphin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Wayne Fletcher II, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Fletcher II has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Jelani Easter was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Carlisle pushed their record up to 17-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Central Dauphin, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle will face off against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waynesboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Thundering Herd are ranked 26th). As for Central Dauphin, they will head out on the road to face off against the Little Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
