Recap: Shorewood Greyhounds vs. Dominican Knights
The Shorewood Greyhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Dominican, falling 72-32. While losing is never fun, Shorewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Dominican is ranked 80th).
When it comes to explaining why Shorewood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Serinity Metcalfe. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points. Metcalfe scored a full 62.5% of Shorewood's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Raelyn Harris, who scored six points.
Shorewood's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Dominican, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shorewood will take on Milwaukee Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dominican, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
