Volleyball Recap: Daniel Finds Playoff Glory Versus Westside

Daniel extended their postseason success on Monday against Westside. They won by a set and slipped past the Rams 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won four matches in a row.

Daniel wouldn't go down easily and took Westside into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 12-25, 22-25, 15-11.

Daniel was led to victory by Emily Gilstrap and Lydia Chasteen. Gilstrap had 28 assists and 16 digs, while Chasteen had three digs and two aces. Chasteen is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Daniel's record is now 27-8. As for Westside, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-11-1.

Coming up, Daniel will challenge Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
