Basketball Recap: Show Low Comes Up Short

Show Low played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 60-30 loss at the hands of the Tuba City Warriors. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Show Low lost, don't look at Jaylee Boyce. Despite the final result, she posted seven points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Laci Peter, who earned six points and three blocks.

It was another big night for Layla Curtis, who went 9-for-18 to rack up 19 points and five steals for Tuba City. Curtis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Alexis Tom also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Show Low now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Tuba City, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Show Low didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-43 defeat against Tohatchi on the 4th. As for Tuba City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 81-24 victory against Hopi on the 4th.
