Baseball Recap: Bethlehem Wildcats vs. Ponce De Leon Pirates

After flying high against Gadsden County last Friday, Bethlehem came back down to earth. The Bethlehem Wildcats lost 21-5 to the Ponce De Leon Pirates on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bethlehem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kru Strickland, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Bethlehem's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ponce De Leon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Bethlehem Wildcats face off against Graceville Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bethlehem has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Ponce De Leon, they will be playing at home against Baker at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ponce De Leon knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Baker likes a good challenge.
