Softball Recap: Coral Glades Comes Up Short

Coral Glades extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 9-10 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the West Broward Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2021.

As for West Broward, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For West Broward's part, the result came thanks to Lundyn Schor-Haskin's shutout, as she gave up just a hit. Schor-Haskin has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Victoria Carmona, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ava Difato was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Coral Glades didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-1 win against Stoneman Douglas on the 28th. As for West Broward, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-2 victory against Goleman on the 28th.
