Soccer Game Preview: Needville vs. Sweeny

Needville is 8-0-2 against Sweeny since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bluejays will take on the Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. Needville's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Needville fell victim to Columbia and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Roughnecks, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Sweeny came into Thursday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over La Marque on Thursday.

Needville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-4. As for Sweeny, the win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-10.

Needville beat Sweeny by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bluejays since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
