Baseball Game Preview: Kentlake Falcons vs. White River Hornets

For the second straight game, Kentlake will face off against White River. The Falcons will square off against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kentlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Monday just wasn't the day for Kentlake's offense. They fell 3-0 to White River on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For White River's part, the result came thanks to Kolton Jensen's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. Jensen also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Hornets are 7-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

At the plate, White River's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Whiting, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Whiting has posted since back in March.

The win was the fourth in a row for White River, bringing their record up to 10-10. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Kentlake, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7-1.
