Basketball Recap: Oaks-Mission Comes Up Short

Oaks-Mission was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Afton Eagles, falling 82-24. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.

It was another big night for Aiden Victor, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 17 points along with 11 steals and ten assists for Afton. Victor has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricky Barton, who went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points.

Oaks-Mission's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Afton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Oaks-Mission and Welch will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Afton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-39 win against Watts on the 14th.
