John Carroll came tearing into Wednesday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 52-42 win over the Severn School Admirals. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Admirals, too.

Severn School lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Katherine Mentesana, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Amyah Heyliger, who posted eight points and five assists.

John Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3-2 record this season. As for Severn School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Carroll will square off against Notre Dame Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Notre Dame Prep has won four straight at home, while John Carroll won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Severn School, they will venture away from home to square off against Gerstell Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Severn School is facing Gerstell Academy at the right time seeing as Gerstell Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
