Softball Recap: McCrory Comes Up Short

Palestine-Wheatley hit McCrory with a four-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars fell 8-4 to the Patriots. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 10-6.

Silver Poole made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two triples and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Annaliece Hite, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

McCrory's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-6. As for Palestine-Wheatley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCrory will host Des Arc at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palestine-Wheatley, they will square off against Midland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
