Soccer Game Preview: Cosby vs. Midlothian

The Cosby Titans will face off against the Midlothian Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cosby's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cosby's offense. They came up short against James River Midlothian on Tuesday, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Midlothian entered their tilt with Monacan on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Chiefs. Given Midlothian's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Monacan are ranked 111th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six matchups. As for Cosby, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1.
