Volleyball Recap: Alleghany Extends Winning Streak to Four

Alleghany waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the James River Knights. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Alleghany who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 15-25, 15-7.

AVA LEWIS paced Alleghany's offense, picking up nine kills. LEWIS got some help from NEVAEH FORBES and her 19 assists. PAIGE WEBB controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Alleghany's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for James River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Alleghany wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Riverheads on the 30th. As for James River, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Carroll County on the 30th.
