Basketball Recap: Fluvanna County Takes a Loss

Fluvanna County lost against Liberty Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. 2025 welcomed the Fluvanna County Flying Flucos with a 68-47 loss courtesy of the Liberty Christian Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Flying Flucos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 59th).

Jisaiah Bryant continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Liberty Christian, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Bryant is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Tre Smith, who posted 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Fluvanna County and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Liberty Christian, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fluvanna County will head out to square off against Waynesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Liberty Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Rustburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.6 points per game this season.
