Basketball Recap: Sidney Takes a Loss

After flying high against Platte Valley last Saturday, Sidney came back down to earth. The Sidney Red Raiders fell 61-54 to the Sterling Tigers on Tuesday. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Colin Linn continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sterling, going 7 for 13 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Linn continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayten DiOrio, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and seven boards.

Sidney's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Sterling, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sidney will welcome McCook at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sterling, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Forge Christian at 7:00 p.m. Forge Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 73.6 points per game this season.
