Korey Abantao leads Washington to victory over El Camino

The Washington Eagles came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 50-40 win over El Camino. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Washington also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2019.

It was another big night for Korey Abantao, who scored 19 points along with seven steals. The game was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Jonah Chiu was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for El Camino, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will take on Carlmont at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carlmont presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Washington in California (Carlmont is ranked 218th, while Washington is ranked 619th). As for El Camino, they will head out on the road to face off against Aragon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
