Football Recap: Montgomery Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Montgomery Central and Hickory squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Montgomery Central had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Red Tornadoes and fell 45-6. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Red Tornadoes are ranked 29th).

It was another big night for Jaheem Jenkins, who rushed for 87 yards and three scores for Hickory. Zay McCathern was another major influence, as he rushed for 37 yards and ran in a TD.

Montgomery Central has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Hickory, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Montgomery Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hickory, they have already played their next contest, a 36-14 win against Franklin on the 21st.
