Volleyball Game Preview: Lejeune Devilpups vs. Perquimans Pirates

The Lejeune Devilpups will venture away from home to square off against the Perquimans Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lejeune is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Voyager Academy.

Perquimans had won 12 straight home games and Hayleigh Solesbee did her part to make it 13 on Wednesday. The Pirates blew past Holmes 3-0 for which the team can thank Solesbee, who had 12 digs and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Perquimans never let Holmes on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-13, 25-22.

Perquimans' win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Lejeune, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
