Chewelah has gone a perfect 8-0 against Reardan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will take on the Screaming Eagles at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chewelah has nine straight wins, Reardan has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Chewelah got the win against Kettle Falls by a conclusive 13-1. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Bode Katzer made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Grady Skok was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Makai Masuda was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Meanwhile, Reardan came up short against Medical Lake on Wednesday, falling 23-4.
Brady Angell was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Long, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Chewelah's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Reardan, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Chewelah has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .520. However, it's not like Reardan struggles in that department as they've averaged .491. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
