Softball Game Preview: Coshocton Redskins vs. Tri-Valley Scotties

Coshocton hasn't had much luck against Tri-Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Redskins will be playing at home against the Scotties at 5:00 p.m. Coshocton has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Coshocton is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Meadowbrook, falling 18-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri-Valley). They blew past River View 20-4 on Tuesday. The Scotties haven't had any issues with the Black Bears recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Paiton Murphy and Alivia Reffitt did most of the damage at the plate: Murphy went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Reffitt went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those three runs gave Murphy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Larsyn Holdsworth, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Tri-Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River View only posted a batting average of .318.

Coshocton's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Tri-Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
