Basketball Recap: Stadium Find Success

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Stadium ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They rang in the new year with a 62-50 win over the Mt. Rainier Rams. The Tigers pushed the score to 45-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams cut but never quite recovered from.

Despite the loss, Mt. Rainier saw an underclassman step up: freshman Evan Patton went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Patton. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Simpson, who posted eight points.

Stadium now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mt. Rainier, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stadium will take on Tahoma at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Rainier, they will welcome Kennedy Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mt. Rainier surely won't give up without a fight.
