Basketball Recap: Troup County Takes a Loss

Troup County and Dougherty squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Troup County had to settle for second. They fell 71-59 to the Dougherty Trojans. The Tigers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Jawuan Jinks Jr was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-13 on his way to 27 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for Dougherty. Jinks Jr has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaleke Singletary-Jinks, who posted ten points and seven assists.

Troup County's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Dougherty, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10.

Troup County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dougherty, they will face off against Calhoun at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Calhoun's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
