Basketball Game Preview: Robinson Rams vs. South County Stallions

Robinson hasn't had much luck against South County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Robinson Rams will venture away from home to take on the South County Stallions at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Robinson will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Fairfax, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Robinson walked away with a 64-51 victory over Fairfax on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Meanwhile, South County strolled past West Springfield with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 72-55. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Spartans are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Robinson has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for South County, their record now sits at 12-6.

Robinson came up short against South County when the teams last played back in January, falling 59-51. Can Robinson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
