Softball Recap: Mobridge-Pollock Comes Up Short

Mobridge-Pollock extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 18-9 to the Redfield Pheasants. On the bright side, the nine- run effort marked the Tigers' highest-scoring contest to date.

As for Redfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

For Redfield's part, they got a great performance from Octavia Paulsen as she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Hayden Gall was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Gall is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Katryn Evans was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.

Looking ahead, Mobridge-Pollock will host Sisseton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Redfield, they are taking a road trip to challenge Avon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
