Andrew came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Hinsdale Central Red Devils by a score of 2-0. For the Thunderbolts, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The victory didn't come easy: Hinsdale Central scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21.

Scott Dinnon paced Andrew's offense, picking up ten kills. Dinnon got some help from Sean Gagen and his 13 assists. Finally, Eli Hoekstra kept Andrew's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Hinsdale Central lost, don't look at Harry Hughes. Despite the final result, he had 23 assists and four digs. Hughes has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more assists the last four times he's played. Rudra Patel also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Andrew's win bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Hinsdale Central, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Andrew and Hinsdale Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Thunderbolts (ranked 141st) will meet Lincoln-Way West (ranked 31st) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hinsdale Central will challenge Lake Park at 6:45 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (123 vs. 7).
