Calhoun proved they can win big on Monday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers 4-3. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

The team relied heavily on Max Toppmeyer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Calhoun's record is now 14-3. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, Calhoun and Greenfield/Northwestern will both be playing Southwestern the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Piasa Birds at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
