Football Game Preview: Alexandria Valley Cubs vs. Etowah Blue Devils + How To Watch

The Alexandria Valley Cubs will venture away from home to take on the Etowah Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Alexandria has five straight victories, Etowah has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Alexandria was able to grind out a solid win over Cherokee County, taking the game 36-28.

Alexandria found their leader in sophomore Monqre Morris Jr (Mj), who picked up 137 receiving yards and two TDs.

Alexandria didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Morris Jr (Mj) and Jj Beason.

Meanwhile, Etowah scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 27-21 to White Plains.

Alexandria's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Etowah, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Alexandria was able to grind out a solid win over Etowah when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 42-32. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Blue Devils' Jameson Scissum, who threw for 345 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 68 yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Valley Cubs to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
