Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ian Neumann and Philip Borchers Lead Rocket City to Victory

Rocket City won the last time they faced Bradley Knights and things went their way on Saturday too. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 72-46 margin over Bradley Knights. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Rocket City was led to victory by Philip Borchers and Ian Neumann. Borchers shot 53% from the field to rack up 19 points and six rebounds, while Neumann went 7-for-12 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Borchers a new career-high in blocks (two). Joshua Minnon was another key player, putting up four points along with eight assists and three steals.

Rocket City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Rocket City has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. As for Bradley Knights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Rocket City will be home for the holidays to greet Marshall Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bradley Knights, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Berean Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026.
