Volleyball Recap: Seminole Warhawks vs. Gibbs Gladiators

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Seminole had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Gibbs Gladiators with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Warhawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Seminole walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-15, 25-19.

Seminole found their leader in sophomore Taylor Leide, who had 24 digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Leide.

Leide wasn't the only good server: Seminole was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win (which was Seminole's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-8. As for Gibbs, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Seminole will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Boca Ciega at 7:00 p.m. Gibbs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
