Preview: Comstock Colts vs. Cassopolis Rangers
The Comstock Colts will head out on the road to face off against the Cassopolis Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Comstock has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 9.
While Comstock couldn't quite beat Lawrence last Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 30-point loss they were dealt last Monday. Comstock fell just short of Lawrence by a score of 47-45.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cassopolis gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-20 win over Bloomingdale at home. With Cassopolis ahead 42-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cassopolis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jadyn Brown, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Kenny May was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Comstock's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Cassopolis, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Comstock was taken down by Cassopolis 50-20 when the teams last played last Monday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of May, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Now that Comstock knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
